When Karsten opened the curtains this morning I was blinded by the sunlight. But we are in Ireland. Enjoy it while you can. Our first adventure and I mean adventure was our hiking tour in the Connemera National Park. We started off in a national park with no admission Costa whatsoever. Astounding what you can do for free. We went into the visitors center and picked up some tips and a map. We then set up to take the long route up the Diamond Hill. ...

We woke this morning to blue skies. Knowing that our next stop had to be fabulous according to what we saw online. We said goodbye to our B&B owners. It was like leaving friends. Their recommendations were great. We listened to Irelands best fiddler Sean Magee last night. The food was also spectacular. I can't find enough superlatives to descibe our first week. We drove to Sligo, past Ben Bulben into Yeats ...

... of St Columbas church. There is also a plaque inside the church in remembrance of his great-grandfather who was rector there.

The interesting mountain Benbulbin stands majestically in the distance and it was interesting to see the different sides of this mountain as we travelled around it.

Next we passed through Sligo and then travelled on till we reached Castlebar. Must admit I got a little excited here as saw a Pie Shop with sign in window saying.....
