Took off from Conover maybe 7:15, on the first day of our new Adventure. Beautiful drive through the North Carolina foothills, through Asheville, on through the Great Smokies to Knoxville, then on to Lexington. Had done some research. ... bloodline. It's a beautiful farm with pristine paddocks and stables. On the tour we got to pet Orb the 2013 Kentucky Derby winner and Front War, who now has a stud fee of 150k! We also toured Woodland Bourbon Distelleries. Fascinating history back to 1825 and through prohibition. Learned that Bourbon is a whiskey but distilled in new charred oak barrels for 6-10 years. Tasted some of the fine nectar! And bought a bottle of the double ...
