... where we picked out a canoe! A red headed guy who was seriously proud of being an Air Force vet (a young vet, and a linguist) drove us down the river and let us off. It was a beautiful sail. Not hard to row (at least where I was, in the back. Sonia may have had a harder time in the front) and not too hot. We saw ducks, birds, a heron and TURTLES!!!! GOD DANGED TURTLES. They were so cute. And best of all, I've had two great night's sleep in an 8 bed dorm. ...

... giving up but we manned up, shook it off and jumped in as quickly as possible. Once we were zipped up all was ok, we will for sure need to work on our sleeping positions but overall pretty successful!

We kept hearing twigs snapping so knew there were animals near by - at one point I looked out and a deer was pretty close so that was really cool! We also heard some coyotes in the distance - it was pretty fun listening to everything around us.
We headed in ...
