Omg! Rain! We made camp with seconds to spare as bands of rain rolled in. We did some fishing and football between a couple of bands. ... episode: long stretches without another car. By 12:30, we were pulling into our Hampton Inn on the eastern side of Oklahoma City. The kids were asleep in the back, but we got them up and out of the car, and straight to brushing teeth and bed.

Route 66 is still there, but who knows for how long? Bits and pieces are just gone. There’s a lot out there to see, but if you want to see it, better hit the road.

... baked potato, and salad, $34.95. Was delicious, and plenty to eat! Would highly recommend this place down in Stockyards City of OKC!

And, on the way back to the hotel, we saw this lighted structure on the overpass. Quite a striking, unusual view!

Tomorrow, we are trying to get to Nashville which is a little longer drive than normal, about 10 hours.

So, gotta get some rest. Good night, and see you all soon.
