I suppose my concern is mostly with to whom I will be writing. Will she still be the same girl who gallivanted with me on a scavenger hunt in NYC and who, in her youth, left me entertaining phone messages? Or will she become whatever it is they are training her to be? Will she change so quickly, or not at all? But that’s impossible, to change not-at-all.
We had clean clothes, now we needed clean bodies. We had been having good luck at finding YMCAs for a good price so we headed to the YMCA in Cranston. It was 10$ each for the day pass but an amazing lady who was working there decided to let us use her guest passes so that we could go in for free. Maybe she smelled us and took pity? I had a moment of disorientation when Addie woke me up this morning. Apparently I brought the wrong phone charger on the trip, and my phone was almost dead last night so I turned it off before bed to save the battery. When I turned it back on to check the time, it said it was 10 o'clock! I couldn't believe I'd slept 12 hours, much less that Addie had been that patient. But there it was.
