We learned about the Purple Gang and “Blind Pigs,” which were speakeasies in Detroit. We ate at Vivio’s in the Eastern Market. The upstairs was the Jewish Purple Gang’s lair, where they plotted the demise of other gangs in Detroit during the rum running days.
