... I think there are more vineyards than sheep in the Marlborough area. In the afternoon we to popped around to Gavin and Charis' place for afternoon tea, then back to the house where we tried to stay focused on getting our suitcases packed and ready for our early call on Friday morning to catch the 8:00 ferry from Picton to Wellington which means we have to leave the house by 6:30. Boohoo too early for me when I am on holidays.

... our host advised against Grouse Mountain on an overcast day. The hire car place on the corner did us a great deal on an eight-seater and we traveled in comfort up the Sea to Sky Highway - with a snack stop at the Lions Bay General Store and Cafe to fuel up for the journey ahead. ... elevation. Anyone with a fear of heights or twisty, windy, narrow mountain roads is strongly discouraged from making the trip despite its scenic beauty. From Hurricane Ridge there are spectacular, sweeping views of the Olympic Mountain Range, including the peak of Mt Olympus itself (not Greece) at 7500ft (2432m). The wind blowing off the mountains was icy cold despite it being a bright, sunny, late summer afternoon.

So we did the mountain rally across the island arriving with 10 minutes to spare...
Who's the hero now.. she had not spoken on the drive... looked pale... dunno why... we got there..

So it was only a 10 minute wait at the back of the line with more cars and trucks arriving behind us..
