Today was another travel day. We didn't plan on seeing anything in particular, but rather just traversing as much of the South as possible. That entailed getting from VA to a suburb of Atlantic prior to nightfall. On paper, easily achievable. In reality....riddled with accidents. Stone Mountain is about 2 hours west of us, just off the highway, so we thought it would be ...

... into what trail life is going to be like.
At this point I've hiked Georgia already, two weeks ago. And am about to give it one more go, starting from Springer next Tuesday. Praying for some warm weather. I'm enjoying preparations, excited to go, but just kind of ready for it to get here. Been eating my share of disgusting food in preparation for having nothing but ...

High Maintenance

... a hotel if it were closer to where I wanted to be. So, after trips on my own dime to Europe (twice), South America (twice), and China in the last six years, I'm starting to realize that not only has my expectations for a vacation increased....but the "needs" for the trip have increased. I wonder if one can ever backtrack to those scary cheap lodgings (Knights Inn-Racine, WI was one example for me in '02, Motel 6 in Delaware in '97 another). Sure - a ...
