... length of me! It wasn't afraid of people going right to the surface so after watching it for a while I made sure to avoid it quickly and get back on the boat in a panic. The wet suit was amazing, it made me much calmer as the fish were touching us a lot I just couldn't feel it. Although there weren't many interesting fish, it was good to finally be able to use my underwater camera properly! The next snorkelling site was a little while away, we saw more turtles ...

... slipping off the bank and at one point the great rearing upper half of a large female as she wrestles with, of all things, a watermelon that's washed downriver!

We get up close with quite a number of placid babies: 1 and 2 year-olds baking in the sun or **********ly approaching some mud skippers and eventually it's time to make our way back to camp for some Billy Tea and Damper!

I was much amused to discover that an "Authentic Aussie Billy!" ...

... went down to the local beach park, did a little reading and a little snoozing and just luxuriated in the tropical feel, the trade winds, the 80 degree water. The multi-colored squawkie birds (most of which we've never seen before). A gorgeous and relaxing afternoon prior to our adventure on the catamaran.

Can wait...
