... but we will definitely see everybody again as we are all going to Cairns and staying in Gilligans hostel, which is the most popular hostel due to it being a party place. We also thought we would all see each other again tonight at the after party at the Phoenix, but Jonny and I didn't end up going in the end, and apparently not that many people did. We got back to base, checked in, then chilled out for the afternoon before getting a dominoes pizza, and meeting Seth and Imy for ...

A great day. More than an hour in a guided snorkelling tour along the coral wall, however the water was choppy and cloudy because of the cyclone activity combine with that a tide and the viewing was somewhat limited. I think it has not yet registered that I have been at the Great Barrier Reef let alone snorkelled there. The fish, coral and other life are amazing. We woke up, had a look out of the French doors and saw a beautiful view over one of Airlie's two harbours. The apartment we were staying in was a lovely little spot, possibly verging on my idea of paradise. Great view, nice pool, nice room and ************e else staying -making it lovely and quiet. Just what we needed after a few days of disturbed sleep in the hostel.

The weather was clear and a little cooler than it had been in Cairns (but ...

Guten morgen folks. This blog post comes to you from beyond the grave. We joke, but seriously - Cyclone Marcia was a hoot and a half. More on that later. This part of the trip was all about the islands, stopping in Hervey Bay for a Fraser Island tour, then making our way up to Airlie Beach to the Whitsundays. Fraser Island is basically a giant sand pit - there is literally nothing but the stuff on the island, which has now permanently coated all our belongings. ...

... you don't care anymore! 13/2/15 We had two snorkelling sessions in the morning which were both awesome, the fish were massive and loads of them had teeth! We were told by our Kiwi driver Dave, that in Australia, assume everything wants you dead! Which I think in the sea is probably a ethos! We chilled out on the boat for the rest of the afternoon then had an interesting journey back. It became ...
