I enjoyed the scenery as we drove Highway 60 from Phoenix and Springerville. With our 60 ft. in length truck & RV. The highway goes through some mountains with great switchbacks. We had checked out the road on Google maps street level before deciding on the route. We had to make sure the curves weren't too tight & that Chuck could maneuver our rig around them.

A short drive took us to Payson where we checked in to our hotel and then headed out to find the rodeo ground. Sadly, it began to rain but we took our waterproofs and hoped for the best. All desperately trying to "post" (rising trot) for those in the know as the horses "loped" across the meadow (that's cantering as far as I know), our sore bottoms and weary legs just about held on but Dean had to rein Charles and Oliver in as after only two times in the saddle clearly thought they were John Wayne and the horses were just making a break for home. It was very funny but Dean did seem a bit concerned. All under control again ...
... I had just one bite but nothing came of it. Abigail was unlucky and didn't get any bites. Charles had a few bites but no-one caught anything so the fish live to tell the tale. We were all pleased to come away without injury and some of us will probably have another go.
