... unique. We had wound our way up a peak we could see the road wind back down to a narrow valley. Down in the valley there was a stream & a bridge for the highway to cross. Then it wound back up another peak on the other side of the valley.

Casa Malpais RV Park is OK for an overnight trip. There were several very old rigs that people are obviously living in full time. That always makes an RV park seem a little iffy. ...

... up and as we were already wet we decided we couldn't get any wetter. I am glad we stayed because shortly after the rodeo started at 7pm the rain eased and we slowly dried off.

We saw all that you would expect at a rodeo and some we didn't such as Mutton Racing..."legalised child abuse", basically parents allowed their 4 year old son or daughter to be sat on top of a sheep and sent in to the arena to see how long they could stay on before they were thrown off by ...

... This involved a very large mallet and metal patterns that after making the leather moist you banged to leave an impression. Very effective but quite tricky to be uniform or consistent. Nonetheless we all came away with a unique design and a fully functioning stained belt that not all of us will be wearing when we get back home but all enjoyed having a go at doing.
