You Can Only Go So Far
We did find the lighthouse. It is one of the few that is run by the Coast Guard, so we couldn't go into it, but did enjoy seeing it. Then we headed up north. Sturgeon Bay is full of boats and marinas. It's a pretty big town. We had to cross a drawbridge across the bay. It was tolerable.

... He asked where I lived, and then asked where I worked. Told him, and he knew exactly where the company was, and what kind of boats that we make. He was a retired Coastie and had worked in Seattle. We had the best conversation. I usually hate border crossings, but he made it pleasant.

Die erste Suche nach einem Motel gestaltete sich eher schwierig.Es gibt sie zwar überall, mit Preisen ab 100 Dollar war es aber wesentlich teurer als wir dachten. Nach ewigen Hin und Her fanden wir eins für 55 Dollar die Nacht. Der alte bärtige grummelige Kauz in der Rezeption war sehr wortkarg.
