    ... due to the presence of the rivers. Named Big Rapids for the many river rapids in the area it was incorporated in 1869. It is a very biker friendly area. With several nice restaurants in the area we chose to eat at The Blue Cow which had very high ratings. The food was delicious and we even ate outside!

    ... trip. Now we are in northern Michigan working our way to the U.P.(upper peninsula). We had to turn on our little heater this morning. It's a little chilly here. Of course all the stops along the way include a trip to the local microbrewery. Next week we will be in Park Rapids to spend some time with Mike and Anita to work out the details of the trip.     ... smart Amish had the only chairs at the fair cleverly placed inside the barn where the quilt auction was, so we settled down in out of the rain and watched the auction for a couple of hours. Next time we will go to the office, get a number, and bid. Quilt tops were going for $25 dollars. I saw later that over to the side, you could put on gloves to go through the quilts and then wait to bid on them when their lot numbers came up. I saw ...
