... br> We got as far as Harrisonburg, Virginia where we found a nice little KOA cabin to take shelter in. Now, apparently this KOA was special because not only was there a great place to eat near by, but they actually did deliveries to the KOA! Once we found this out we took the chance to have a nice hot meal brought to our door. And no regrets were had that night.
The next morning we woke up ready to take advantage of another day of trails. It cost 15 dollars to enter the Skyline drive so we knew we had to use it as much as possible. We drove to the Hawksbill Gap that had the highest peak along the mountain range at 4000ft. The trail was only 2.9miles but it followed the Appalachian trail and was pretty challenging during parts. The next morning we knew it was time to get back to nature. The Skyline Drive was right next to us and was calling our names. The Skyline Drive is a 100mile drive through the Virginia Shenandoah National Park. Back at the
camp and having at least 10 km of mountain trail on the clock, we had done our
exercise for the day. We stayed two nights there as it was weekend and we had
to take ‘ Black Bear ‘ to the doctor on Monday morning. The recommended garage
by a Ranger from the Park we could not find, got horribly lost and eventually
Awoke this morning at 6am to get ready for the Madison county farmers markets! In the short space of about an hour I had breakfast, coffee, packed my bag and checked on my ducks... We left about 7.20am and of course halfway there I forgot my wallet! Stupido! Anyway, wasn't too much of a big deal.
