Now for the long version:-

There is something about Thailand that makes it an extra special Country to visit. I am not sure if it is the people, the culture, the food or just the sheer quirkiness of the place but it may just be because it is CHEAP!! Where else can you get a decent cup of coffee or a taxi across the City for the equivalent of one Euro?

I do know that Lou and I love coming back here ...

... place right on the riverside called 'right on the riverside' lol!! It was really good, we got a seat right on the water and watched the sun set over a green Thai curry and a bottle of the local brew, Chang Beer!! It was a lovely place to sit and chat and have a drink, the food was okay but pretty standard I would say. None the less it was a pleasant evening and we slowly walked back to the hotel to relax and get ready for a busy day ...

... the fullest, we hit up a Lady Boys show.... which is tiny Thai men crossdressing and singing show tones. It was SO unreal how feminine these men looked and acted... hahahah absolutely brillant. Now we are back at the hotel, getting ready for bed and pumped for another 7am wakeup tomorrow in order to sqeeze in our last minute activitues before we take the sleeper train back to Bangkok in the evening!

The end of the trip is coming too close for comfort.... :(

... the night but is fine at the moment but cloudy. We have just had breakfast served - eggs with sausage, ham and toast plus fruit, tea/coffee. We are now about 90 mins out of CM and enjoying the lush green scenery set to music from our iPad. Very relaxing. Just arrived, right on time to discover this is not CM and then when I ask the guard he laughs and says 2 hours more - a delay! Glad I asked! Well we finally arrived nearly 3 hours late and after a discussion with 5 taxi drivers about ...

... transportes que veníamos tomando. Una especie de cuarto con 2 camas cuchetas con tus sabanas y cobijas limpias te esperan listas, aire acondicionado, cortinas, luz propia, enchufe, compartimiento para tus valijas y restaurante las 24hs con una amplia variedad de comida. Un lujo.

Arribamos a Chiang Mai temprano por la mañana, bien descansados, y buscamos alojamiento en el ¨Old Town¨. Una parte de la ciudad que se encuentra rodeada por canales ...
