We are staying in the Land Between the Lakes a National Recreation Area. The Canal Campground is at the northern most tip and is just a few miles from the recreation area. We drove south to the Woodland Nature Station and were told to "take a hike" so we did. We took a 2.5 mile hike around the Hematite Lake. It was a nice hiking area and we enjoyed ourselves.

We made it over to Grand Rivers, Kentucky on Thursday. It was a short drive from Nashville and we arrived at our spot to find it very difficult to get our camper in. Thanks to a neighbor we wiggled it in! We are staying at the Canal Campground for 4 nights for $40. It is a COE campground and I get the discount for having the Golden Age Pass and being old:) We checked out the town of Grand River, population less than 400. But ...

On 9/7/13 will stay in Eddyville, Kaintuck...... possibly named after some of my Eddy relatives. Will try to find out.

Eddyville, the seat of Lyon county, was settled around 1798 and named for the eddies in the nearby Cumberland River.
