      ... YES!!

So tomorrow my adventure begins. I'm leaving at 7:30am January 12, 2015 Eastern Standard Time, and arriving at 5pm January 14, 2015 Auckland Time. I will never see the day January 13, 2015. How weird is that?! It's a long time to be traveling, but it will all be worth it when the wheels hit the tarmac in Auckland. There are so many lovely people to meet and so many incredible places to see!

I plan to take a small packet of Bill's ashes to the top of Mauna Loa (the largest mountain on Earth in mass) on the Big Island of Hawaii this winter as a symbolic gesture of reaching his goal. What a fun way to travel with four grandkids and four adults! The grandkids called the RV the moving livingroom as they were able to sit at the table and color, look at books and have snacks. We traveled to Jakes Corn Maze where we picked apples, traveled through ...

Update: After more than 3 weeks in the hospital, Bill continues making small improvements in his rehabilitation daily. We celebrate each success with tears of joy. He is working very hard to meet his goal of "breaking out" of the hospital and returning home to Beeches. Bill & I and our excellent medical/rehab team are all thrilled. The small daily miracles are adding up to make Bill more mobile. He now has more movement and range ...

I rode the white bike into the tiny town of Mesick, who's claim to fame is The Mushroom Capitol of the USA. Michigan is interesting, from crops of cherry farms to wild, natural mushroom habitat. I secured us a simple room at the Mushroom Cap Motel, hit the shower and ...
