... Also, at the museum is Jesse James' house. You can see the bullet hole in the front parlor where he was shot and died. It is a beautiful hotel and well worth a stop if you are ever passing through Kansas Cit., St Joseph is an old town, home of Quaker Oats, has fantastic old mansions and lots of history including Buffalo Bill, Annie Oakley and the James boys. The first one, Jowler Creek Winery was only 6 miles from the RV Park. They were having a special wine and cheese paring for Mothers Day along with a coupon for a free cupcake at their sister winery in Weston. An offer we (I) couldn't pass up. They had a Norton red wine that is described as the Syrah of the Ozarks. They also ...

    Transition Day

Had a short travel day today, so we took our time breaking camp and headed out around 9am. Was glad that we didn't leave any later because when we pulled into the Basswood RV Resort, they had a sign up welcoming NASCAR fans! They were having a race at the Kansas Speedway just 30 minutes away. I had not called ahead for any of our previous RV parks and had not for this one given how early we are in ...
