... the bigger ones that live in the big holes and dad has to dig down to his neck to find them! We think the worst possible torture a crab could ever endure is being captured and kept in a bucket by Jacob. Many a night mum has had to do a mercy dash down to the beach to release the poor things after Jake has gone off to sleep.
Yeppoon is a bustling little township with its fair share of new development taking place and sits ...
... The rest of our growing chapter joined in with enthusiasm. We built a coffin, shopped for candelabras, skeletons and face paint. Here are a few photographs of the night. We really did have a ball. Our funeral procession was greeted with a standing ovation from the oldies. Some of them looked a bit grim because they were very close in going home in one.
The rally concluded ...
... 4WD. We were lucky and managed to get parked safely in a great spot right at the front overlooking the ocean.
We had a pretty relaxing day, walking along the beach collecting yet another load of shells. The place was pretty busy with people camped right along the beach. It would have been fantastic for a longer stay, especially with a group of people, but we needed to push on so we left the ...
... puts on the kettle to make a cup of tea for the difficult pom. Third time lucky, on day two I found a set that fit and finally got to enjoy the fringing reef on Shelving beach. It’s one of the biggest reefs I’ve seen so far, usually it’s just little bits all bunched in the same place, but this was just one huge shelf reef system that seemed to go on forever. Each time I go snorkeling now I get excited about the new thing that I ...
Great Keppel Island, Queensland, Australia flagwavingpom... front of 7km links the two villages and it just seems to be endless.
I think the locals really want to see their villages remain unspoiled and so far it appears to be the case, as long as development is kept to a minimum.
1770 is also the gateway to the southern part of the Great Barrier Reef and tours are taken out to the Reef daily.
Now one of the major highlights of this little town is that ...

We had actually seen quite a bit of this area, so we took the time to clean out all the dust, sand and dirt which had accumulated during our time in the outback and the Gorge. Lots of washing, of course, and because they used grey water we could wash the car and van on the grass. Also haircut time as well so it was all accomplished here.
We had a nice day out to Byfield National Park, and had lunch at Ferns Hideway, which is the where ...
... the buyers, it is dangerous, as a careless scratch of the ear or nod of the head could land you with 100 head of cattle. We admired the cowboys on horseback, as they expertly manoeuvred the cattle from the holding pens to the auction pens. The Saleyards also host the world's largest stud sale in their new 1,000 seat, high-tech Selling Ring. The record price for a bull is currently AU$300,000 - which is a hell of a lot to pay for a walking sperm bank.
Rockhampton, Australia chris-barbara... to find the beach again. At least then I would be visible and not at risk of bad injury. The ground was very slipping under my feet but I made it back down. Progress was very slow but I made it to level ground eventually. I sed my extensive knowledge of geography to know that where there were small channels in the ground, they must lead to the beach. When it rains, the water runs down to the beach and forms these channels, so i followed them, but each one came to an end ...
Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia samcohen1987... He finally comes out of the bush so I can ask what all the screaming was about. Well as he was diligently looking for snakes he forgot about the spiders. He happened to feel somthing on his forehead and looked up and he was an inch or so away from a gigantic spider and her mate - of course he took photos to prove it was something to scream at. Finally we made it back to the car with a few shots of a spider and a hairy ass of a ...
Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia mundurs... the unknown.... 'Mystery craters, 500m on right' !! Apart from the aweful soaps, no wonder Australian tv doesn't make it onto UK screens, a programme last night was a drama about a 16 year old transvestite girl trying to go out with an 11 year old guy at school. How screwed up is that?! Oh, went out for a drink last night in Rockhampton (quite a big city) at around 10pm, and.....all the bars had just shut??!! Even the nightclub?!!? What??? Take care, Andrew
