    ... new tyre (who hit the pothole up the road?) , the Channel Tunnel and ferry are booked, the breathalyser kit, the red triangle, and the high vis jacket are all ready and waiting to go... lets hope they wont be needed.

    So far the route is supposed to go like this: Cornwall to Folkestone where we take the 'chunnel' across to Calais. From there its down through France to Verbier, Switzerland, where we have to tie up all the loose ends ...

    ... because the line was so incredibly long. We also go to go ice skating! Now these skates were not real skates (made of plastic) and for a Canadian, that is a hard thing to get over. Nonetheless we did it and it was a lot of fun. I am however, used to using figure skates which have the pick at the front of the toe. These did not. Thankfully, I only fell once.

    I spent a lovely week in Cornwall over Christmas seeing my Mum each day and visiting various towns and villages near the Lizard where I was staying. The harbour at Coverack by night was a magical scene with Christmas lights and decorations illuminating the small fishing boats in the harbour.
