Wir genießen aber trotzdem die Bootstour, vorbei an den vielen Inseln der Bay of Islands, die teils in Privatbesitz (mit riesigen Luxushäusern) sind, teils der Regierung gehören. Viele der Inseln sind Kiwi Sanctuaries. Nur zum Verständnis – auf einer Insel, die etwa so groß sein dürfte wie der Schliersee, gibt es rund 15 Kiwis. Der Weg runter zurück zum Fluss war zum Glück wesentlich einfacher :)

Die Neuseeländer aus der Gegend halten sich anscheinend auch auf diese Art und Weise fit. Hab viele in Turnschuhen mit Wasserflaschen in der Hand getroffen. Und immer wird man freundlich gegrüßt!
