        Visiting Tara

We finally got to visit Tara instead of it being the other way around. Tara let us crash in the spare room in her adorable apartment. She's a busy girl so we didn’t get to see her as much as we wanted, but we made it count. We cooked great meals together, drank wine and listened to music. It was hotter than buggery in Wenatchee so we didn’t really want to be outside too much. There ...

... Weather was pretty iffy most of the day but was a very scenic route. Stopped at Astoria at the Best Western - good hotel - rate $108 plus $15 for George. Was clean and relatively new. Ate dinner at the Ship Inn which was a good seafood place. Basic and definitely not fine dining but good ...

... hopefully next year it will be better......George started drooling before we hit Westbank and threw up his breakfast (note to self not to let him eat before we leave) before we got to Penticton. He continued drooling on and off most of the day! Border crossing was easy and quick. A lot of questions were asked about our snow bird status - i.e. proof of our residency in Canada. Was advised to have a full year of credit card statements as ...

... firm, soft. Early season, late season. Flavors are important; we shouldn't limit ourselves. There are more than 10,000 cultivars of grapes, but at the supermarket, you can purchase green or red. Strawberries, bananas, melons are pretty much a one-stop shop. Not apples. I've even had some that tasted like grape kool-aid. I think the biggest complaint is that we are limited to 6-9 choices in most grocery stores. It's not practical ...
