... bizarre! (though we would come to discover totally normal weather behaviour for Tofino). We pulled up at Harvey House B&B - a gorgeous looking wooden house owned by a English couple who'd upped sticks and emigrated here from London back in 2005. After a brief chat about life in London and their life here we were shown to our room. One word suffices - gorgeous!

It was still late afternoon by this point so ...

... nutritional requirements!. From there we stopped at the famous Long Beach to check out the surfers and walk the beach. It was on the cool side and somewhat overcast at this point but it is a beautiful spot regardless of the weather. We enjoyed a long walk before returning to the car and making our way to our hotel to check in and get settled. The rooms have kitchens so we were able to have a nice dinner in our room, followed by a little walk, before calling it a night. ...

... I loaded my bike and head down to the beach.

After the 20minute ride, I arrived at Cox-Bay, just to find it totally different than the day before. I stood at the Beach, saw the sand but no water nearby. I walked for a few minutes, nothing! On a bike, surfer style clothing, cup of coffee in his hand and a board under ...

... wise. Clear blue skies, and only a little breeze. This plane has only room for 3 passengers. Maybe 4 if they add a seat in the back. It’s smaller than a family car inside. Cosy! I had no idea what it would be like to take off. Amazing… you whizz along, and in moments you are soaring above the harbour. You only ever get to 1000 feet, so everything below and around is crystal clear. Think mountains ahead, ancient forests below and lots of tiny ...

The road to Tofino

... miserable so we had a walk on the beach, coffee and then packed up to go exploring (we're about 4km out of Tofino). The only downside of having a motorhome when staying out of town is that when you want to explore further than on your bikes you have to pack everything away and move. It would be really handy to have a little car or scooter for times like this but that's not really feasible for us right now... First up we drove down to Long Beach to check out the surf. The ...
