Visiting Ben's Oupa and Sundowners in Cape Town
On Sunday we drove to Villiersdorp to visit Ben's 87 year old Grandad and family. We had an amazingf fish soup and white fish for lunch. The best home cooked meal we'd had for a while.

Baboons, Penguins, Dassies and Whales..oh my!
... in-hand. JACKPOT! This place put Boulder's Beach to shame. WOW! We saw tons and tons of penguins. They were on rocks, in the shrubs, etc. Everywhere you looked...African Jackass Penguins! We also, saw several Rock Hyrax (DASSIES) on the backs of the Harbor on the small rocks right next to the walkway. There was a Mom Dassie protecting her babies, and looking at us with a warning....get any closer to my babies and chomp, chomp. ...
A whale of a time
... first bite of food in to our mouths we spot a mother and calf Southern Wright Whale. We were sitting on rocks that jutted out into the sea and we were literally 20 meters from them. Awesome!
17:00 We eat and have a few drinks then sit around the fire while some lout throws stones for the staffy Jock to fetch.

Down the coast for the day
... Sir Stanford Lowrey pass, and found blue skies and dry roads on the other side. The day was excellent from there on.
We got to Gansbaai around 1PM. After driving around for a few minutes (there wasn’t much to see), we stopped in at the visitor information center to ask about where to eat. Hermanus the Huttons and home from home...
... to know over the last year, was a gap student who spent last year at Cheam School, where Thomas attends when he’s not travelling!!!. Shaun had returned to South Africa just before Christmas and is now studying in Pietermaritzburg which is much further east in Kwa Zulu Natal. We would go to see Shaun in a couple weeks after our trip through Lesotho.
