    The poor girl makes it, and we find the campground. It is right on the beach, nor surprising since all of Tofino is pretty much beach. It is apparently a great surfing spot, although at this stage in these temperatures we are willing to just take people's word for it!     In all the years of going to Tofino we buy crab from the same lady. Her family gets up early and catch the crab and sometime around noon they are back at their home ready for purchase. You can find her place on the main road. Look for the "Live Crab" sign about 1 mile from the edge of town. If you are not in Tofino head down to the local fish market for almost fresh dungeness crab. If you are not in the Pacific North West...too bad...so ...

    ... the door at Wild Edge Lodge stating our hostess would be back by 5:00. We wandered through the stores in town and found some real treasures. Shortly after we went back to the Lodge, Laura returned and showed us around our suite. We have a great spot here - 2 bedrooms, a living area, kitchen, games, Cards and magazines.     ... handy. It turned out later that they did indeed as both sustenance for the fishermen (and fisher ladies) but also as potential bait for any fish who like chocolate.

    Al revealed his bear watching credentials, but only under discrete cross examination, it turns out he was a bear hunter in Alberta and was once tracked for three hours by a 600 pound hungry Grizzly. A man, therefore, who truly understands the bear necessities.

    What an amazing adventure both in the beauty of the scenery but also the wild life. I found outr tonight that we live in the nature strip and they have seen cougars on the school fields which I walk past ever night on my way to the restaurant to see James.
