... trip's usual tour route. We didn't mind as it was a beautiful sunny day and a great way to see more of Vancouver Island.

We had been warned it would be cold out on the water so were glad to be given blankies. We had sailed for well over an hour when the captain suddenly cut the engine and pointed us to the left of the boat (port? Starboard?).

I am sorry the photos aren't better, but nothing can describe the awe we felt seeing the huge dorsal fin ...

... the main road. We were lucky to find parking as the lot was full with people enjoying the beach.

The sun was shining brightly and it was hot outside.

Mom decided to wait in the car while I walked along the beach to take some pictures of the area. There were tons of people sun tanning, some people swimming and many others surfing. I would love to try surfing some day. I think it looks really fun.

We were going on a bear hunt!

It takes about an hour to get to the the shores where the bears come down to feed. On the way, magestic bald headed eagles just sat and watched us and the world go by.

... a surf! We didn't arrive till about 4pm - the road in is pretty horrible, quite narrow & windy in places with lots of potholes. It might not be too bad in a car but let me tell you in a motorhome you feel every bump and bounce. We're staying at Crystal Cove Resort, which is a mix of RV sites and gorgeous log cabins and it's waay fancier than what we're used to. They even have a Starbucks coffee bar in the office - could be dangerous hehe. The resort is set on ...

... hours either so what to do... At first I decided to visit Stanley Park. So, set up the GPS and drive there. But then I get there and realize I have no clue where I'm going or what exactly to do and where. I find a parking lot (horses right beside where I parked - very cool!) but the only thing there is some kind of tea house nearby and walking trails. I figure I'll see lots of even prettier hiking trails in Tofino so I decide to pass on Stanley Park for now ...
