... 2.75 to downtown Vancouver and then took the sky train to the Greyhound terminal to catch the 6pm overnight Greyhound bus back to Calgary arriving at 7am. During my 5 hour layover in Vancouver there is no bag storage offered at the Greyhound station (Pacific Place where via rail also run trains to Seattle and such). Our lodge was on the ground floor with wonderful views of Cox Bay through the trees where we spent most evenings enjoying the sunsets. The facilities catered well for families with volleyball nets, soft balls and badminton rackets & shuttlecocks just by our apartment. Our first day had us Kayak across to Meares Island to walk through first generation rainforest. The day had ...

... some had been spotted so our Captain changed direction and took us there. They are huge, much bigger than the Orca’s, but they also spent longer under water so we didn’t get to see as much of them.

We got back to our hostel at about half 4 and spent the rest of the day chilling out, drinking tea and looking out the window at the amazing views which culminated in a nice sunset too.
