Conference Day 1
... back in time to have a shower, nice breaky and walk the 15 minutes to the conference which is where this intrepid traveller is penning these few words! :)
For those of you who are interested, Renee (in London) had a lovely day at Harrods, bought bears and stuff and is heading off this morning to the British museum for a day of high culture. Me on the other hand is right now heading of to a session on teaching mathematics with Origami... somehow the two don't equate!!!

Nice drive
... the 'estate' permanently. I walked into the village last night and had some yummy vegetarian vietnamese food. I think I took a picture :) and then walked down to the 'beach'. Actually, after the rocks at Brighton, this beach actually had sand albeit dark gray. There were lots of oyster shells on the beach. Swansea used to be a large oyster fishing area and when it was over-fished (how typical) in the early 1900s the town collapsed along with ...

All the locals in Tenby are worryingly friendly, and almost always say 'hello' when they see you. As far as welshness goes, I am not sure you could consider Tenby to be a representitive but regardless, a trip to Wales is not complete without a visit to this amazing little town.

Farewell Laugharne
... rest before having a farewell drink with the locals at 5pm. It turned out to be a robust affair at The Three Mariners with lots of fun and Welsh stories to keep us all laughing. A lovely bunch of people who all have visiting Australia on their bucket list.
A few of us were pecked by the Speckled Hen ( a local ale) tonight so packing up tomorrow for our trip home should be interesting.
