... for distance; and tossing the caber - and that would qualify for a "games" experience!! We walked into town, ate a bit of lunch, saw a Disney movie (the only adults without the requisite kids) and walked on to the train station, for our return trip to Edinburgh. It never stopped raining. However, this was our first totally rainy day, so far, so we're not complaining!!

You might think that castle would become passe after awhile. Well, maybe so - but evidently NOT YET! As far as we know, there is not an abundance of castles near our home. Not to mention, our history is so much shorter. Not to mention, there is so little royal connection....

The Roslin Chapel guest house does not serve breakfast until 09:00 on a Sat so we skipped it. Left at about 08:15 and after a fairly leisurely drive were in Pitlochry by 12:20. ... some snow patches to cross, and thence to the rocky summit and spectacular cliffs. As we enjoyed the summit views there was a roar of a plane and we were treated to the sight of an RAF typhoon flashing down below us in the Lairig Ghru! We met the rest of the party as we started our descent, and enjoyed their company for some of the descent as a few clouds bubbled up and the wind increased.

... ok. I had not planned on doing it, but the B&B lady really recommended it.

After I finished at the Birks of Aberfeldy hike, I had planned to visit an old church called St. Mary's Church. Because I had added something to my itinerary, my direction mileages were all off. The next places were remote with hard to find turns. So I ended up getting lost since my mileages were off.
