... a cross between the old women who lived in a shoe and the highwayman - quite weird but it made you stop and have a look!! Then headed to the coast to Bournemouth to stretch our legs. There were people everywhere and even though it was only 23 degrees (felt like 18) lots of people sunbathing and swimming???? So many people after our quiet countryside. ...

Had breakfast in conservatory. At 10.30 took part in the shuffleboard competition. Didn't do very well at all. It was a strange shuffleboard court. The board had a very different layout to what we were used to. The ten and minus ten scoring areas were reversed. Then went to the morning session dance classes for cha cha lessons. ... What was this place? Torturing their guests into paying the money to feel comfortable. Out of sheer principle I refused to pay this, stood my ground and they eventually did it for me. She typed in my room number and literally clicked a button and it was done, 2 seconds of work for £2 I think not. Anyway back to the real reason why we were in London; fawlty towers! ... Sam and his lovely wife Liz. Dan and Sam share a beautiful connection - I had to try really hard not to cry when we arrived and Dan was so happy to be here to spend time with fathers oldest friend.
