... but by the time we pulled into the visitors center at the park, the sun was starting to peak out from behind the clouds, but then it was humid. Anyway, we drove over to the falls area, parked the car and walked down to where the falls would be if there had been more rain. Actually glad it didn't rain a lot since that area is subject to flash flooding and over the years, several people have lost their lives there.

... and I suppose when it rained there would be water, but nothing now! It was wide open, two small trees flanking the gravel drive. (For this we paid extra and almost as much as staying in a Holiday Inn Express & Suites.) We did have a picnic table and fire ring at the site, but since it was hot did not think we would be using the fire ring.

Robin, Rodney, Julian & Tyler soon arrived ...

Although I now have to remember things from this past Monday (writing on Friday) there are several worth memorializing. The drive from Baytown to San Antonio was not very memorable except for the heat and pulling into a gas station and noticing a fissure in the cement requiring careful navigation.
