We drove over the hill going to Boppard, Germany and the famous (and very busy) Rhine River lay before us. It close to the size of the Mississippi and it is loaded with barges, ferries and river cruise ships. The small towns on its banks are also teeming tourists, souvenir shops, restaurants and Floh Markts (Flea Markets).

After Trier, we had an easy time riding the train...then a boat down the the Mosel, then down the Rhine to Bacharach. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking, but we are still very relaxed, entertained, and loving the food and weather.
