... finally at 8:00-ish. Oh well! Mark took first shift driving, always staying about 8 miles above the speed limit to make good time without getting a ticket. Across Missouri via I-70, we settled in for the long drive. Today we would try to make it to Colorado Springs, so about 12 hours of driving. Mac and Josie are excellent car trip kids. They slept, played on phones and I-Pads and annoyed each other, but all in good fun.

... Two days of wedding, part 1 in Bangkok and part 2 on the beach. What a wonderful resort!!!

After the Thailand trip I celebrated New Year in Belgium at Hungaria, still one of my favorite bars. At January 6 I had to go back to reality...working in the Belgian office for 2 weeks. Having some health issues I staid 1 more week, so finally January 19 I flew back to Colorado Springs.

... shrubs, then above the tree line where some shrubs grow but no trees. Then there is almost nothing about 14,000 feet and the views are spectacular. I will comment next to some of the pictures. On the trip up we were on the inside of the train and taking pictures uphill. On the way back some kind folks swapped seats with us and we were on the outside and thus all the dramatic shots until we once again hit the tree line.

The temperature at the bottom was about 87 ...

... control, this was fine until my brakes gave out due to over heating! Luckily we made it to the end OK.
