    Nice place for a picnic

    ... picnic lunch. It was so nice with no flies or mozzies. Very few people so definitely no noisy radios like yesterday. Idyllic in fact!
    There was a small military museum but we gave it a miss.
    As we were driving along, I saw a sign to a waterfall, and wanted to investigate. Great name Taughannock Falls. Almost as good as some names in NZ eh! I really like the rock colours round it.

    We are about 500 miles into the trip and are now camping just south of Watkins Glen in Corning, New York. Yes, Corning is the home of Corning glass.   • 9:30 is when 1st major starts. majors are what the kids go to every day of camp - in woodshop they started by making jewelry boxes, now they are making turning pens on a lave, or making whatever they want to make.

    ... we got back to Watkins Glen, we decided we had time for a beer or two and found a really cool brewery called Rooster Fish. Blake had the Black Raven IPA (which he loved) and the Original Dark Nut Brown Ale. I had the Summer Sky, a Hefeweizen, and the Tripel Witch Belgian Tripel. We made it back to camp with enough time to enjoy a fire. This was our last night in the Finger Lakes before we head to the Adirondack Mountains, where the next adventure awaits ...
