... unseemly amount of noise.
But we made it to two view points, which the guy said they don’t normally get beginners to in just the hour, he may though have just been being nice, it is always hard to tell.
When we had done, I won’t say I was desperate to do it again, it was a challenge and mostly fun, the other two signed up for another session straight away, it another thing to add to my list of things driven in NZ though, which goes:
* 2 Tractors* 1 ...

Raglan, North Island, New Zealand thehammsventure... beach and I was kind of bummed to see blown out 10ft swells rolling in from the west. I decided that it was not going to happen that afternoon as there were no locals out and it looked pretty desolate. The next morning we had our coffee and headed back out to Manu Bay to have a look. It was sunny and warm, but the surf had gotten even bigger with triple overhead ...
Raglan, North Island, New Zealand thehammsventure... parts of it that will stick in my mind such as the South Island – the whole island is magnificent; Wellington; driving on the left with American style signs; totally empty roads; The fact I have to wear 5 layers, a scarf, 2 pairs of socks and pyjama bottoms in June in order to have a warm night's sleep; the long Maori place names that are about 7 syllables each and are ...
Raglan, Waikato, New Zealand apoc100... or so trying to stand up and nearly almost do it a couple of times but most of the time I just end up with a nose full of sea water. Its fun though and I wish I'd stayed longer in Raglan to try it a bit more. The hostel is nice and remote and we do a group meal which is fairly mediocre but healthy and filling enough.
Raglan, North Island, New Zealand mjkontheroad... re talking about!! It's a really good beach here with lots of decent waves for the surfing dudes. We have decided we are going to learn to surf in Australia so we will give it a miss here. Our digs tonight were at Karioi Lodge. We had a four bed dorm this time and shared it with a couple of Germans. This lodge has got a fantastic common room with flat screen tv, satellite channels, free pool table, darts, table football and big comfy sofas. It also had videos and books to borrow ...
Raglan, North Island, New Zealand vickersontour... 22 of us who are all very nice and really friendly. Andrew is loving it as they are mainly all women with a handful of men chucked in for good measure. Today and yesterday we have been visiting the local seaside towns and have ended up in Raglan which is know for its surfing . We have been having a great laugh getting to known everyone and hearing everyones different ...
Raglan, New Zealand jparker... last day there we said we'd drive Mat to Hamilton to catch his bus, but about 5 minutes away from the bus station the car broke down!! Had to be towed to a nearby garage and needed a new distributer (yep i know all about cars!), the mechanic also told us that it was only runing on 2 cylinders out of 4, which was very bad and he advised us to sell it while it was still running. We headed down towards Waitomo next, stopping at a couple of free ...
Raglan, New Zealand noodle1505... the corner where we can pick up odds and ends. There's a Chinese takeout place and a fish and chips takeaways place too. And the café nearest Orchard Park has a big sign for pies outside of it - I'm very excited about that. I haven't been in yet but it's on my list. I love pies. Now we're talking meat pies, of course, the English kind, not fruit pies or dessert pies. Mmmmm! Speaking of the buses I did have a chance at that yesterday, to go to town and find an internet café. I went ...
