... I was lucky that Dave was driving, cos it meant I got to take it all in. The sun on the water just in front of the mountains was breathtaking!! And then we hit a bit of a hurdle. Not literally of course, but our poor van wasn't doing very well on the hills. It was losing power, and on 1 hill got down to 10kph. There were a lot of hills, so now we are starting to stress! We stop looking at the scenery and are just watching the speedometer. Uh ...

Cider (Strong Bow), wine, a Cheap towel (for foot drying), and medication for my sore back were purchased in Port Alberni, our next stop along the route. Once again we were back among the snow-covered mountains as we headed to Ucluelet. We arrived around 4:00 pm to find a ...

We managed to fit in one more short hike up Radar Hill, but by this time the visibility wasn’t great as the clouds had come in so we headed back to the hostel via a Co-Op to buy supplies and motion sickness tablets for tomorrow. Sat drinking tea, looking at our view as the last of the daylight faded.

... that live in the trees.

We are staying at a lodge that is just 20 yards from the water. The room is very large with a small kitchenette and a private hot tub our balcony.

As you can see I am having a great time. I just wish my friends and family were here too!
