    Lovely drive from Springfield to Stockbridge, enjoying autumn colours and even managed to walk the Appalachian Trail. Long and hard as the trail is, we managed it in record time. Then we went to the Norman Rockwell Museum. Mum and Dad subscribed to the Saturday Evening Post for many years, so Katie and I have memories of the Norman Rockwell illustrations that were often on the front of many of them. ...

    ... and old movies - that should keep most of my family happy as they read my blog. We were in Walmart this arvo and Graham heard a Mum searching for her child, calling out 'Marco! Marco!' and from a distant aisle came a voice 'Polo'. Irresistible. We are staying at the Sheraton (last minute cheap deal) and it has a mural on the wall showing what Springfield is famous for.     Day 49. Vermont The first stop today was Fort Adams - not that was saw a great deal of the fort. It was bucketing down, windy and so cold, the walk to the visitors centre was enough to send us back to the warmth of our car.
