Stan also met some people he knows from Winnipeg so they talked for awhile. A bit later he was talking to a couple and after awhile exchanged home locations to find that they were from Edmonton. Both groups had flown in strictly for the auction. Stan came back all enthused about the auction.

Ryan and Niki arrived in Scottsdale on Monday afternoon after spending a great few days in Vegas. They arrived with a souvenir margarita glass the size of a small bathtub - if that's any hint.
Their feet had barely touched the ground when we whisked them to the other side of town - Glendale - to watch Ryan's beloved Detroit Red Wings play the local Phoenix Coyotes. Good game that Detroit won.

Our trip began uneventfully with a leisurely trip to the airport ending at Terminal 2, with no one in front of us in the security line. I thought there would be more people flying United on a Friday afternoon. Our first surprise was getting upgraded to First class for some unknown reason. But who is going to ask?
