    Wow, what a morning! The exhibits in the Gäubodenmuseum in Straubing were extraordinary; the Roman objects found buried there in 1950 are amazing! Metal breastplates, knee guards, shin guards, helmets, swords, silver coins etc in perfect condition. The Romans settled here in 70 AD and called the place "Sor-viodurum" The Danube trail is well signposted, we have only lost it several times, mostly entering or leaving a city. ...

    ... our hotel. Got rather hot riding today, apparently 26C here in Straubing. Got a cold drink soon as we arrived in Straubing and had a rest, tonight's Hotel was just over the road.
