Historical Traveler Reviews Villa Monica B&B Sorrento

    Incredible service, incredible views

    from

We stayed at the B&B Villa Monica five days, and we really enjoyed it.

The house is located in the hill over Sorrento, and offers you perfect views of the coast of Naples and the gorgeus Vesubio.

And don´t forget the breakfast, that gives energy for the whole day.

The shuttle service they offer allowed us to visit the area by train or ship.Sorrento is a perfect place to visit Pompei, Naples, Capri and the amalfitan coast, with the incredible town Positano. Pascuale takes you to the city center in the morning and picks you up right after dinner. Five stars service for the price of 3 stars rating.

    Great Hospitality, Fabulous Views

    from

Villa Monica is perched high on the hills above Sorrento with stunning views over the Bay of Naples and beyond. The views alone make the stay here worthwhile. In addition, Pasquale provides warm and friendly service. Rooms are simple and charming and great value for money for this part of Italy.

If you are looking peace and quiet with amazing scenery then Villa Monica should be your first choice location from which to explore the delights of Sorrento and the spectacular Amalfi coast.

    Excellent lodging in Sorrento

    from

Villa Monica is an excellent place to stay in Sorrento - comfort, cleanliness, view, price, and Pasquale's assistance all make it so. My wife and I were in Italy for the whole month of Oct and stayed either with family or in apartments we had previously rented. Villa Monica was a new experience and we highly recommend it. We drove and had little difficulty finding it but you should have had some experience driving in Italy, especially narrow roads and steep climbs. Pasquale apologized that he was serving only an Italian breakfast and not an American one. We reassured him that we were in Italy and wanted to experience Italy and not recreate home. Pasquale was of immense help from driving and picking us up at the train when we needed it to recommending ristoranti and pizzerie to having wonderful discussions about Italian politics, calcio, and regional differences(north vs south). Pompeii is easily reached by train, and the Amalfi Drive is also very close by and a wonderful day trip. We agree with Pasquale that you should drive it yourself if you go during the off season. Paestum is also easily reached by car.

You will always remember the view from your balcony overlooking the Bay of Naples and Mt Vesuvius as you sip your glass of wine.

    Go for it!

    from

Villa Monica is a great place to stay in Sorrento. The view is spectacular. The rooms are excellent, immaculately clean and the attention of the proprietor makes the experience that much better. There's nothing like a continental breakfast on the terrace overlooking town and sea. Their website has some great photos - ---.

The Villa is high above town and requires driving on some steep roads to get to. But all of Sorrento peninsula is like it. The owner, Pasquale drove us to town and picked us up on an ideal schedule. The best way to get there is by train and Pasquale will pick you up. His attention to detail in running the place, recommending eating places and personal assistance helped make our stay (5 days) most enjoyable. We would definitely stay there again.

    Wunderschöne Lage und aufmerksamker Gastgeber

    from

    Super !!

    The best in Italy

    from

We traveled a month in Italy and Villa Monica was the best. We wanted to stay only few days but stayed a week. Is located in the hill and not only the view is breathtaking but the hosts are exceptional. Pasquale is doing everything to make the guests feel at home. The rooms and bathrooms are large and the balconies have a wiew!!!!!

    Beautiful

    from

    Memorable holiday

    from

What add in more to how much I dictate in object? has been my first time to Sorrento and I think that I could not have found a better arrangement.a Wonderful place, a view as that of the postcards; the thing that is più liked me and my wife, it has been the hospitality of the two young proprietary and shopkeepers Pasquale e Monica. After two days with their as be with some old friends or parents;has been as be our home, on the contrary better. We make all that we wanted. the rooms are accepting indeed and clean; really delicious breakfasts, Brioches and cakes are very fresh, done by the Monica father's; more famous artist of Sorrento. That luck which we have had!a little piece of advice to everybody. renting a car is not necessary ,because the mythical Pasquale will there come to catch you everywhere be and he takes wherever you want to go.this he say Because besides to be very expensive the cars, finding Villa Monica is not easy and difficult enter the very narrow road to reach the house. This is the only negative side in fact, but not for everybody. The experience has taught me that the best places , cheap and exclusive, they are really the hidden and difficult to reach ones. There are luckily these fora that they allow everybody of not well-known wrong.I have known Villa Monica in a forum of journeys to the Italian one and all what they had written was true. So, I now I want to do a gift to you everybody.but the best gifts will certainly make them to you Pasquale and Monica. Thanks for heart to have made a memorable holiday pass to us.we are a couple than travel often always changing destination, but I consider that a holiday to Monica villa we will grant it to us every time it will be possible.goods holidays to everybody. Mel & Jessica.

    Beautiful Views

    from

My family have just returned from the Villa Monica in Sorrento and all I can say is what and excellent holiday we had.

The accomodation itself is truely beautiful and I can highly recommend the balcony rooms ours looked out over the bay of Naples, and there is nothing nicer than enjoying the sunset with a nice bottle of local wine, Pasquale the owner made not only me but the children feel very welcome and was more than accomodating, providing us with lots of usuful information about the area and local resturants, as well as providing a bit of a taxi service himself.

This was our first time in Italy and trust me it will not be the last..

    Thanks

    Wonderful holiday

    from

Me and the wife booked this villa and didnt know what to expect but we were absolutley amazed when we got there,

this place has the most amazing views over the bay of Naples

if you go there it' s worth booking the room with balconies as you will be addicted to sitting on the balcony with a nice bottle of wine.

the owners are very very nice and very accomodating.

it was all so romantic , we have had one of the best holidays ever .

    I love Sorrento....

... city square sitting tonight and wandering the streets. Onto Pompeii tomorrow so I hope to not have any system revolts against planned activities. After all we have a private guide to meet us at 8:30 at the train station in Pompeii. We are hoping to have more time with fewer people than we did last year. In Pompeii. But we know we need all our energy, good shoes and wits about us for the program.

    Living like royalty in Sorrento

I poured more hours into planning the week of "Sorrento" than I have for any other single week in the 13.5 months we'll be gone. The reason? I was hoping to make everything as perfect as possible for the group to be assembled in my favorite country, overlooking my (heretofore) most favorite locale in the world: Capri. Why? Because my parents would join us for a week in Italy, and some of my other favorite people on the planet, Rusty and Tissy, would join us for a few days ...

We had been to Positano 5 years ago...one of our favorite small coastal towns...lots of grapefruit sized lemons (they make limoncello out of the rinds.... yum).

We walked down to the ocean, rocky beach but the water is such a beautiful blue. Had a cappuccino and then headed back up to purchase a few souvenirs....found a dress shop and bought Siena and baby girl A ...

... that runs from Naples to Sorrento through some of the roughest neopolitan neighbourhoods and not any of it was good, but it had to be done. I had spoken to an American couple in Rome who had just done it and said it wasnt too bad, just keep an eye on your bags. Well OMFG. After dragging my bag down 2 flights of stairs, beacuse not many elevators on Italy actually work, too expensive to fix I guess, I joined ...

... demos on making olive oil, fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheeses, and how to make authentic pizza. It was an awesome meal shared with neat new friends!  We ended our evening strolling the streets of Sorrento. What's so amazing is that even at 10:00 at night, the streets are alive and vibrant with an inviting outdoor cafe around every corner. Thursday, we'll spend most of our time on the bus traveling north to Assisi. We can't wait to see what awaits ...
