... we had no choice but to drive to the Royal Palace and the Capuchins Monastery. It has been an interesting experience and again it made me so happy to have learnt to drive in Toledo.

The plan today is to visit a museum or something indoors so we didn’t get soaked again. We have visited the chapel of the Royal Palace and the Capuchin Catacombs where it felt as if we were in a horror movie with the outside thunder and lighting adding ...

... and much less rattly. Our original plan was to spend some time in Taormina on our road trip between the islands and Mt Etna but we couldn't actually find any guide that talked of anything in Taormina except for the amphitheatre. This place is divine!! We had a late night again, this is the norm now. We found out breakfast is included so enjoyed a magnificent breakfast with a glass of champagne and were one of the last to leave. ... day, so it was nice to return to our air conditioned rooms. We got ready and had dinner at the ship's Italian restaurant, Toscana. It was unbelievable...we had caprese and caesar salads, lasagna appetizer, veal scallopini/marsala, lobster Fra Diavolo...and because we are part Yankovich, desserts!

Tomorrow we were supposed to dock in Sorrento, but because of inclement weather, we are docking in Naples...awesome!

... grilled aubergine, yum yum. Today we took the local bus to Castelmola, a small town above Taormina at approximately 530 metres above sea level. Fantastic views in all directions. We had a walk around and then had lunch at a lovely little family run restaurant. They gave us each a complementary shot glass of local almond liquor (vino di mandorla) which is served cold and tasted quite nice - like a light sherry. Next stop the Aeolian island of ...
