    ... pedir alojamiento en alguna de las pocas casas que veíamos. El GPS además no ayudaba porque nos recomendaba continuar por caminos forestales y hemos tenido que retroceder en un par de ocasiones después de meternos en auténticos barrizales por los que podíamos haber acabado cayendo a algún cráter del Etna.

    ... and our hands were like icicles! But back at the gondola we were in t-shirts again. (It's was nearly 30 degrees in Taormina!). Mitch thoroughly enjoyed it especially touching the ice that was hidden under volcanic sand, collecting volcanic rocks & running down the side of a small crater!     ... tasty. The antipasti was mostly cheeses done many different ways and a lot of it fried, so I could not easily eat that, but what I had was very tasty.

    Sam had stock fish which had been grilled and he ate it but it was not his best dish. I asked for grilled calamari and it was good, but too much oil as I said. Birthday cake was a gelato cake, the best and most delicious cake ever!!!!

    ... has around 12,000 inhabitants but at the moment there's probably another 3-4,000 tourists including bus loads of day trippers. Mt Etna sits off in the distance but we've not had a clear view of it since we arrived. Yesterday we visited the ruins of the Greek Theatre.
