Puerto Angel and Interior Oaxaca

... Panama and throughout the past year stayed in touch with him. We were excited to learn that he had accepted an ESL teaching job at a university in Miahuatlan and it became part of our plans to pay him a visit on our way north. Miahauatlan is about a 2 hour drive southwest of Oaxaca City which we visited a few years ago. I prepared myself for the trip into the interior by taking a 1/4 of a Gravol and carrying my fleece as I knew that we would be ...

... that this is something that not many people will understand, that probably by tonight, I'll be annoyed and opt not to use it, and that it will sound very cliche, but it made me feel so safe and protected- like a baby being back in her mama's arms after a long separation. It feels so right that I wonder if I'm destined to live in a insect and disease infested place (though, to be fair, Zipolite is not). This place is doing funny things to my ...

This entry is brought to you by Immodium

Shane says: Immodium. Now all you have is verbal diarrhea. San Augustinillo was a nice little place, lots of fresh seafood, pulpo (octopus) with diablo sauce, and yes, it was the sauce of the devil. The toilet bowl the next day was y disatero but it was worth it. Pretty family orientated place, we just drank a lot of beer and ate a lot of seafood. Doesn't really make for an interesting read, but that's really all we did. Milli says: Two Mexicans that ...

... So Tuesday, I finally got through to them, however, the lady I talked to about my lost passport, wasn't very helpful, except to give me the phone number for the Consulate in Acapulco. So I called there and after 2-3 transfers, I talked to a nice lady named Carlina, who gave me the necessary information and I will see her when we get to Acapulco. She informed me ...

... when we showed up at Puerto Angel. We had to wake up the manager of a hostel so that he could let us in and give us prices for rooms - which ended up costing more than we wanted to pay. I admit that we did feel a little bad about waking him up just to tell him that we weren't interested in staying there... So we walked down to the beach and waited for the sun to come up and for more places to open. As it slowly got lighter out, we began seeing ...

Day 18 - Acapulco to Huatulco, Mexico

... we do, just in a different way. Mexicans are very kind and welcoming. We spent 12 hours on the bikes to progess only 560 kms. We were checked at 3 military stops today. It's the same as getting your bags checked at the airport, they're just trying to keep everyone safe. We found a very nice all-inclusive hotel and will be here for a couple days.

... and stairs for training! I usually return to the house around 730 or 745 to I can to other exercises and shower. My mamá and Serena usually make me breakfast around 820. I always get a small plate of fruit like papaya and banana or some combo, then I get eggs or pancakes or enfrijoladas, which are basically fried, crispy tortillas covered in beans and cheese. The queso (cheese) is amazing here! Eggs are always served with tortillas. I leave for class ...

The other night at the Dublin Club, the faux Irish Bar here in Huatulco, I met Rodrigo, the bartender, and Natanael, a scuba instructor. Nata, as his friends call him, convinced me to try the introductory course the next day. Yesterday I showed up nervous as hell. I was worried about becoming claustrophobic or getting a panic attack. Well, after a few minutes under water I wondered why I ...

Puerto Escondido

... 14 years experience who didnīt mind showing us the ropes, (for a fee of course). He took us to the girly part of the beach where the current wasnīt as strong. On the main beach the undertow is so strong it can suck the sand from under your feet and you with it, not quite ready for that yet. Matt suffering for an ankle injury which is also the reason that he didnīt get into Man U first team this year as well, decided to skip the first one. Personally i think he just wanted to see ...
