... 100 miles of the day - very heavy with lots of spray on the road. Steady as we go and we get through OK.

To get to our final destination of Silveton we have two mountain passes, Coal Bank Pass at 10640 ft and Molas Pass at 10910ft both small compared to the Grand Canyon but beautifully formed. I was so cold (and wet!) though when we arrived in Silverton and took an hour to warm up properly.

From here to the nearby Moab, UT, this area has some of the best mountain biking in addition to amazing ...

... lupines, and many others, all growing together, and filling the meadows with so much color!

We spent a long time taking pictures here. We took close-ups of individual flowers, wide angled shots of the entire meadow, and panoramas of the entire view. We took pictures of the Jeep, and pictures of ourselves, and, of course, pictures of the dogs in the flowers.

Ridgway is a wonderful town. Town square park where scene was done in the movie.
Now there is a True Grit Café with pictures of the movie and John Wayne. We did not
eat there but would not mind visiting it one day. I rather have a picnic in the ...
