1139. Back down the Mountain (Italy 116)
... Vesuvius!
Finally, well into the evening after a number of miles of rolling hills, I find a road heading south into Torre del Greco, where I quickly reward myself with a delicious pizza, straight out of the wood oven. It turns out that pizzas are very delicious and very cheap here in Napoli—as little as 2 Euros… as long as you order them “to go”… So what I do is order a takeout pizza, and than rush to find ...

It's all about the view
... mountain. Fifteen kilometers of wandering through city streets, and admittedly up, we came to a fence and a sign that said Mt Vesuvius national park. Unfortunately there did not appear to be anyway in, and we were nowhere close to the top. So next I plugged mountain top into the GPS. Check yours and see if it’s an option. In Hampton Roads I wonder if it would take you to Mt Trashmore? For family and friends not from ...
