    ... was filmed in The Godfather before heading to dinner. We sat at a table that overlooked the ocean and enjoyed some table side serenading.     ... meters off sea level.
    Then we had to catch a cable car up to about 2500 meters and the cable car looked so small but I think it could fit about 9 people in there.

    And after the cable car we caught a bus that has MASSIVE wheels to about 2950 meters above sea level.

    I thought it was super high everything down below looked like an ant even the buildings.

    So we had about 3 hours up there with a tour ...

    Although the theatre itself has been modernised for use with a blue stage and plastic chairs - not cool.

    We enjoyed our walk through Taormina's gardens.

    It had lovely, well maintained, lush gardens and many interesting buildings that looked like treehouse temples.

    We thought Taormina was high but we drove higher to another cute town called Castelmola.

    Today our first stop was in Messina, Italy. This is a port that we visited last time we went on our Mediterranean cruise. We decided to do a little exploring on our own this time. We rented a little car ( as you do when you are in Italy). The streets are very narrow and roads aren't that great so it definitely was an experience!
