    ... substantial history here too, with the Saracens and Normans using it as a fortress, then in the 16th century it being an important centre in the Spanish/ French wars. Sitting on our deck late on Sunday evening, finishing the bottle of red wine and looking out across the water, it's a fine way to end our 4 days in Taormina.
