... t see anything so thought this may just be a strange local ritual. We followed all the traffic into Carmel and were very lucky and got a car park just off the min street. A man walked past our car and congratulated us on getting a car park so close to the main street. This was nice but seemed a little odd. ... view the sunset. Unfortunately the clothes we had on were not enough. It was very cold but this could possibly be our last sunset overlooking the sea and so we stuck it out in the cold and watched the sunset. ... could get to in about 2-3 hours, and agreed on Pismo Beach. The first park we stopped at was Pismo Beach State Park which was camping on the beach, I mean literally on the beach.
