      ... walking stick, but alas, no luck! But we had fun rummaging through the piles of sun bleached wood – it was so interesting! Side note – a majority of the small businesses we saw along the road were selling beautiful drift wood carvings…whales, bears, pelicans – they are fantastic. Too bad we did not have enough room in our car/trailer for a giant beach wood sculpture…that would have been nice in the front yard!! Now on to Point Reyes, ...

      Day 1 Arrived at our mossy, redwood covered campsite and set-up Made dinner – hot dogs and ramen…classy! We may be Chefs but not every night can be a gourmet dinner over the fire…we get tired of cooking too sometimes!       ... 15 miles and then had to turn back eastward to get to our hotel. The only road back was 28 miles of more hairpin turns, not quite so bad, but bad enough. Elaine, you would not have liked this one bit!

      By the time we got to the hotel in Ukiah, we decided to go to the pool and cool off. It's 96 degrees here.

      ... it. It was beautiful with mountains and very deep valleys. Building a road through that area must certainly have been a challenge and the recent upgrades, an exercise in building bridges over valleys and deep river cuts.
