... free nights through Thousand Trails. All is good out on the open road, we are each settling into our daily routine and daily responsibilities, john's in charge of making coffee and building camp fires, I am in charge of the water filter and basically knowing where everything is...."Jackie! ... wind which I was told is not good for Gliding. Good wind ensures that the glider is in the Air for a longer Duration.

There is also an amusement park closeby where children can enjoy, and you also get to see a Big Golf Course, with people trying their shots.

Overall a nice place if you are passing by Elmira, or are visiting Watkins, to add to the places to visit. I doubt anyone would like to travel 4-5 hours to just visit this place.

If you’re going all the way to Upper Entrance to catch the shuttle bus back, I suspect it might be easier to turn around at Mile Point and enjoy the gorge again on the downhill trek back to the main entrance than to go up all the steps to get to the shuttle at the upper entrance. If you think you’ll need the shuttle, I’d park in the upper entrance, walk down the Gorge Trail to the main ...

... falls for about five minutes, allowing you to experience the falls cascading down around you. It is awe inspiring to stand at the bottom and look up as millions of gallons of Lake Ontario flow over the edge 200 feet above you and cascade onto the rocks located only fifty yards from where you are standing. You get soaked. You are deafened by the sound. And you want to do it again as soon as it's over!

After ascending ...
