... pretty streets, especially when all the Christmas lights are up, is a lot of fun.
On the Saturday afternoon we went on a bus tour to Stonehenge and the town of Lacock. Stonehenge was impressive, but the presence of hundreds of tourists, a highway nearby and the fact you can't get very close to the stones does marr the experience somewhat. It doesn't feel all that magical or spiritual.
I didn't know anything about Lacock, but am really glad I ...
... Bath. After we got to the Glassocks’ house and settled in, the five of us walked to the local pub to enjoy a hearty meal together. We picked up ice cream on the walk back home, and then Ash (violin) and Jess (clarinet – a girl after my own heart) were kind enough to play a concert for us in their living room! (Thanks, guys – it was lovely!)
Saturday (11.21.09) in Bath dawned cold and rainy. (Typical England, no?!) After we dropped Jess off at ...

I manged to buy a car in November, a purple Rover 216! Very sporty.. lol. But I did have to spend a bit of money on it to get it into shape and MOT'd. Well registered in Australia. He and I have had some adventures already but I'm sure plenty of more when I take him to Scotland with me!
Enjoy the photos of Pete
I think I ended up back in Trowbridge at the best time of the year... lol What with Halloween and Guy Fawkes night!!
I was a little exhausted when I got back. I think I was happy to be somewhere where I didn't have to literally live out of my suitcase!
While I was back, I opened a bank account and also applied for my national insurance number so I can work in the UK. It was a fairly short process because I have a British passport! I've applied ...
... was trying to avoid him by taking a picture really quick with the statue but he was quicker than I was! After my picture was taken with him, he started talking to us about heavy metal, and he was actually kind of funny...but I never ended up being able to take my picture with the lovely Ms. Austen.
We then caught our bus back to London and went to bed right away as we had to be up by 3:15am to get ready to catch a flight to Berlin.
... and told us we had to call her if we needed anymore, so nice and cute, we hope she doesnt give money to everyone she first meets! After ages of looking at photos and laughing we had to leave but promised we would go back to show her photos of our trip etc before we went home. We road tripped to Anne Maries house, and a drive that should have taken 2 and a bit hours took nearly 5 because we kept procrastinating and talking and stopping etc. Check for photos soon!
Trowbridge, England, United Kingdom richandleightI went on a day tour from London to visit Stonehenge and Bath.
I've heard people say about Stonehenge, something like, "why would you want to see that, it's a just a bunch of rocks?" Well, it's much, much more than than that. It's the fact that it has been there since about 2500 BC and questions like what the purpose was, where the stones came from, how ...
... bus takes me from Stonehenge to Bath, a Georgian city situated very close to the border with Wales. I am fascinated by its cobbled streets, grey stone houses, cute bridges and an interesting cathedral. Most of the time, however, I spend in the Roman Baths, which are so huge that after a few hours I get bored and only think of getting out of here. The Roman Baths are, well, baths used by the Romans, and the water inside is STILL WARM.
Avebury, England has the largest stone circle in the British Isles. Large irregular stones line the inner circumference of the earthen works circle. Not too far distant, Silbury Hill, the largest man-made earthwork, can be seen. The summer of 1999 saw the appearance of crop circles amid the fields between Silbury Hill and Avebury. On the earthen perimeter of Avebury, great trees with remarkable root systems stand witness to the local mysteries.
