So we arrived in sapa on the sleeper train about 5.45, half an hour late as we've come to expect from sleeper trains. We then came out of the station and met the guide from our hotel, the sapa summit hotel. After waiting around for a while we headed to a minibus which took us to the hotel, I napped the whole way as I barely got any sleep on the train due to a ridiculous amount of swaying. Back on the road it quickly dried out and in less than two hours we were at Lao Cai, with only a 32km road between us and Sapa. We put off the planned break in Lao Cai and continued on to Sapa while the road was dry.
