    Dad decided that a trip to the Field of Dreams should be a late inclusion in to the road trip.

    It was a 4 hour drive from Chicago. When we arrived the field (just like in the movie) was there. On the field there were a lot of people playing baseball.

    What happened next was awesome. The movie scene where the baseball players came out of the corn field was re-enacted. Some of those involved were in the original movie. ...

    ... it, in part because if you look very closely on the FAA's Sectional chart, "Field of Dreams" is actually marked!We orbited the field once, dashed into Dubuque to pick up a rental car, then headed right back to the ball field.

    We are alongside the Mississippi River tonight and will cross it tomorrow and continue our trek eastward. I am hoping for better weather tomorrow as the wind and rain makes the driving more tiring for Denis. Our home on wheels feels like one big sail, as Denis puts it, in the wind.
